Civil Activist · Journalist · Voice Artist
Co-Founder, Ice Peak Studio · Baalbek
I am a woman from the weary East, who wakes each morning to wash salt from her wounds before washing her face — and covers her embers with love each night, praying for a morning lit by fire and revolution.
Zeinab Ousman
A voice that echoes from the Lecture halls to the airwaves — rooted in Baalbek, reaching the world.
Zeinab Ousman is a Lebanese Civil society activist, journalist, and voice artist from Baalbek — a city she carries in her bones and champions with every platform she stands on. Holding dual degrees in Law and Political & Administrative Sciences from the Lebanese University, alongside a Master's in Law and graduate studies in International Affairs, she has built a rare multi-disciplinary career at the intersection of rights, media, and creative expression.
From facilitating citizenship workshops across Lebanon with LPHU, to editing for national newspapers, producing radio programs, and lending her voice to documentary and commercial projects between Lebanon and Egypt — Zeinab has never chosen between thinking and doing. She holds the pen and the microphone with equal command.
As Co-Founder of Ice Peak Studio, she bridges the studio's creative vision with strategic depth — a partner and force behind the scenes. In 2025, she stood as a candidate in the Baalbek Municipal Elections, bringing her advocacy from institutions into the public square. Wife of Egyptian artist and Animation Director Mahmoud Hassan, their partnership is as much a creative one as it is personal — two voices building one studio, one story at a time.
Over fifteen years of work across law, civil society, media, and the arts — Zeinab doesn't fit a single category. She moves between disciplines the way she moves between languages: fluently, purposefully, and without apology.
From Baalbek's streets to Lebanon's courtrooms, radio studios, editorial desks, and municipal squares — Zeinab's journey is one of relentless, purposeful motion.
"I know the meaning of pain that women carry — especially in our geography. I don't merely fear it. I live it, fight through it, and hold myself accountable to what comes next."
Open for collaborations, voice projects & civic partnerships.
